Tastlessness has always caused a ruckus, an outrage, or censure. But then, it has NEVER FAILED and will never fail to generate attention. There is a great place in Mad Marketing Tactics for tastelessness. It can be deployed in words, or pictures -- I have chosen to embed words in a picture to illustrate just what I mean:

My question to you is simple: Is the above picture a steaming pile of freshly excreted turd, or is it a chocolately dessert treat?

And to go just a bit further: A very effective marketing campaign involving the simple arts and crafts project above would have even the most discerning viewer reaching for his spoon.
