Andy Greider Teaches Douglas Castle About Persistence (!)
Dear Friends:
I tend to work a very vigorous (alliteration!) schedule, and feel either overwhelmed or depleted from time to time. Invariably, this causes me to neglect friends and acquaintances who truly deserve or require my attention. I have to invest a greater percentage of my time in simply staying in touch (as Rick Itzkowich, one of my colleagues at The National Networker Companies, and a fellow member of the TNNW BUZZWORKS Buzzard Team would advise). My dear friend and the Chairman of TNNW, Adam J. Kovitz, is obsessive about keeping contacts alive, and about refreshing acquiantances with those special persons who somehow fall off of our radar screens from time to time.
And now it's Andy Greider's turn to teach me a lesson.
Andy ("Google Me") Greider and I had spoken about certain collaborative projects some months ago, with a high level of enthusiasm on both of our parts. Then, some other time-sensitive work intervened and I stopped returning Andy's calls. I had begun to just accumulate his emails, not bothering to take the time to simply write back. But Greider (like Itzkowich amd Kovitz) keeps sending me interesting items via email.
One of them which he shared with me (and very likely with a veritable ocean of undisclosed recipients as well) just today woke me up. I am now waiting for his return call. Through this, he has not chastised me once for being unresponsive...in fact, he has written me just to inquire how I'm doing. The relevence of his correspondence is not at issue -- the persistence and kind-spirited nature of it is what has gotten me. Normally fanatical about content, I find myself admiring of Andy's dauntless persistence. And now, I might have to do some business with him.
Here's Andy's latest email correspondence to me, just for your reference. It contained a terrific e-book, which I would encourage you to download (I'm hosting it for free), retain, browse through, and use. The download coordinates follow Andy's email:
"I hope you each enjoy these (quotes in a downloadable ebook) and find them to be useful in presentations or
other places quotes are needed...
