Andy Greider Teaches Douglas Castle About Persistence (!)

Andy Greider Teaches Douglas Castle About Persistence (!)

Dear Friends:

I tend to work a very vigorous (alliteration!) schedule, and feel either overwhelmed or depleted from time to time. Invariably, this causes me to neglect friends and acquaintances who truly deserve or require my attention. I have to invest a greater percentage of my time in simply staying in touch (as Rick Itzkowich, one of my colleagues at The National Networker Companies, and a fellow member of the TNNW BUZZWORKS Buzzard Team would advise). My dear friend and the Chairman of TNNW, Adam J. Kovitz, is obsessive about keeping contacts alive, and about refreshing acquiantances with those special persons who somehow fall off of our radar screens from time to time.

And now it's Andy Greider's turn to teach me a lesson.

Andy ("Google Me") Greider and I had spoken about certain collaborative projects some months ago, with a high level of enthusiasm on both of our parts. Then, some other time-sensitive work intervened and I stopped returning Andy's calls. I had begun to just accumulate his emails, not bothering to take the time to simply write back. But Greider (like Itzkowich amd Kovitz) keeps sending me interesting items via email.

One of them which he shared with me (and very likely with a veritable ocean of undisclosed recipients as well) just today woke me up. I am now waiting for his return call. Through this, he has not chastised me once for being unresponsive...in fact, he has written me just to inquire how I'm doing. The relevence of his correspondence is not at issue -- the persistence and kind-spirited nature of it is what has gotten me. Normally fanatical about content, I find myself admiring of Andy's dauntless persistence. And now, I might have to do some business with him.

Here's Andy's latest email correspondence to me, just for your reference. It contained a terrific e-book, which I would encourage you to download (I'm hosting it for free), retain, browse through, and use. The download coordinates follow Andy's email:

"I hope you each enjoy these (quotes in a downloadable ebook) and find them to be useful in presentations or
other places quotes are needed...

BE THERE WHEN IT MATTERS - Rick Itzkowich

I just got off the phone with a prospect of mine who told me how timely my call had been. Earlier in the week I received an email from a customer telling me that they had been thinking of me and that my email to them couldn't have come at a better time.

Most small business owners and service professionals know that by staying in touch with customers and prospects they increase the chances that these people will do business with them. The problem is that so few of them do it. A survey I conducted two years ago revealed that 87% of those who responded had no systematic way to staying in touch with people.

Why is this? Though the answer most people would give is a "lack of time," my personal opinion is that more than time, what they lack is interesting content. Coming up with interesting content on a regular basis is a challenge even for writers and authors.

QuoteActions solves this problem. Not only does it provide all the content you need to stay in touch, but it also offers the engine to deliver it. It is a unique automated follow up and relationship building tool that has your customers and prospects thinking of you often and sending you business and referrals as a result.

This month's QuoteAction is by Author, Gil Stern:

"Both optimists and pessimists contribute to our society. The optimist invents the airplane and the pessimist the parachute." Your action is to reflect on a recent contribution you have made and notice how you feel about it.

Rick Itzkowich

As the creator of the QuoteActions, a unique relationship building system, Rick Itzkowich finds his articles, podcasts and blog messages regarding keeping your brand "top of mind" in high demand. His latest eBook, Social Networking for Business Profits, uses cost-effective follow up strategies. Rick is also the Co-founder and Vice President of Productive Learning & Leisure, a personal development training company for corporations and individuals.
