A PATRIOT SPEAKS OF PLANS, AND NOT JUST EMPTY RHETORIC

Dear Readers:

Guest writer Patrick Kennedy, a true patriot and a man of great thought and conscience, has written a wonderful article in the most recent post on http://theglobalfuturist.blogspot.com/. I do not agree with all of his ideas, or even with some of the assumptions whcih have led him to these suggestions...but I believe that he is what democracy demands -- deep thought, questioning, debate and proposed solutions to real problems.

Democracy is a gift, but it requires maintenance, monitoring, vigiliance and vigorous and aggressive participation in order to to avoid a deterioration of feudalism or fascism. Are you are blamer, or a problem identifier and solver? Whether we are speaking of your marriage, your business partnership or your role as a citizen -- can you honestly say that you are participating in the "Honor Guard" which keeps democracy alive, and viable.

Too many blind followers and too few questioning, innovative problem-solvers, eventually leads to a society ripe for rape by the privileged amoral few. democracy requires independent critical thought, just as much as it requires motivated teamwork.

We need thinkers, doers and problem-solvers. Ther will always be plenty of fools and sycophants to cast their ballots in favor of whatever seems "stable, simple and popular."

Be reminded: Nothing great has even been accomplished without effort and resistance. The sun must always fight to shine through the clouds.
